Nature Bridge 2014-2015

Nature Bridge is Here! Don't miss out on this great overnight experience!
Applications are being accepted for the 7th grade Nature Bridge field trip currently scheduled for October 29 – 31, 2014.

For the first year, Potomac Middle School’s seventh-grade students have had the opportunity to participate in an outdoor educational experience that supports the classroom science curriculum. This outdoor program is provided by Nature Bridge and will be held this month for three days in Prince William Forest Park. Students stay overnight in the park’s cabins, and all meals are provided. There is a registration fee for students who are selected to attend the program, and applications have been distributed to students in their science classes.

At the park, students are chaperoned and supervised by their teachers and Nature Bridge staff. Students are divided into field learning and cabin groups. Each day new opportunities to learn, explore, and play in the beautiful outdoors are afforded to the students. From 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., students are engaged in interdisciplinary field science activities led by Nature Bridge Field Science Educators. During the evening from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m., the Nature Bridge staff conducts a program for the students.

All applications must be completed and returned to the student's 7th-grade science teacher no later than Monday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. A parent information session about NatureBridge will take place at the school on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m. and students are encouraged to attend.

Click here to see more information about the Nature Bridge program on their website. Be sure to watch the video of students who have participated in the Nature Bridge adventure.
